On April 11, 2024, the lawyers of Jones Kelleher LLP filed a Complaint on behalf of Scott A. Amaral in the Providence Superior Court.
On September 8, 2023, Scott Amaral, a registered nurse with more than twenty years of experience, was attacked by a psychiatric patient at the Jane Brown Building of Rhode Island Hospital. At the time of the attack, there were two Allied Universal Security Services officers on the floor of the unit. Those officers failed to prevent the attack from happening and also failed to intervene once it began. Allied Universal Security Services was tasked with keeping Rhode Island Hospital patients and employees safe. It failed to do so. As a result of this failure, Scott Amaral suffered serious and permanent injuries for which he continues to receive medical care and attention.
